I am a Harvard graduate with more than five years of tutoring and education consulting experience. After graduating from Harvard, I trained with several elite test prep companies and admissions consulting firms before acquiring my own students. Now, I tutor in-person in the NYC area and online over Skype across the globe.
I know all of the tricks and shortcuts to master tests such as the SAT and ACT, and I teach my students when to use these methods properly. More importantly, I help students discover which aspects of their habits are not sustaining them while they work to build new ones. In my experience, major gains occur when students heighten their awareness. Only then can they find their unique and subsequently successful ways of working.
I fit into this system as a guide. I make the oftentimes stressful and confusing test prep or admissions process more lighthearted and manageable than most students and parents anticipate by making each session active and collaborative. I absolutely love what I do and am constantly improving my technique. As a result, my students routinely reach and exceed their goals. Tests and applications are like games to me, and I aim to share my enthusiasm for them with every student I encounter. Although the process requires effort, preparing for a test or getting into college shouldn’t be an unpleasant experience!
WHO AM I?
As an undergraduate, I attended Harvard University where I concentrated in Film Studies through the Visual and Environmental Studies Department, and minored in psychology and the French language. While there, I also participated in a wide range of extracurricular activities and programs including peer counseling, film critique, performing arts, study abroad, and the campus newspaper The Harvard Crimson. I love dogs, chocolate, New York City, theater, and embarrassingly bad television.
PLEASE use this website as a resource for whichever test you are studying, whether you are doing so alone, alongside a class, or with the support of a tutor. I want to try to help demystify the process by sharing some of the resources I have found and/or use on a daily basis with my own students.
